Policies and Procedures

When you come for your first appointment at TLC Pet Services, LLC, we will go over our policies and procedures with you.  However, since we like to be completely open and honest, we also want you to have a chance to view a summary of our policies before you even come in!  Here is a brief over view.  We will also have longer posts explaining why we do what we do in the future.  If you have any specific questions, please don't be afraid to ask!  When you come in, we will go over everything in more depth.

Cage Dryers:
There has been a lot of controversy surrounding cage or kennel dryers. At TLC Pet Services, LLC we do use UNHEATED cage dryers.  It is like sitting in front of a fan and can be much less stressful for some pets.  All dryers are maintained and serviced on a regular basis.

Fleas and Ticks:
We strive to be a flea free facility.  If you know your dog has fleas, we ask that you let us know when you make the appointment.  Should we find fleas during the appointment, we will automatically do a flea bath at an extra cost.  There may also be a fee of $10 - $30 to clean our facility to ensure fleas are not passed around.  If we find more than 10 ticks on your pet, we will discontinue service until they are checked for any tick borne illnesses by a veterinarian.  WE DO NOT PROVIDE ANY FLEA OR TICK SERVICES FOR CATS DUE TO THEIR SENSITIVE NATURES. Any cat found to have fleas or ticks will be sent home immediately.

Health, Medical, and Senior Pet Concerns:
 We ask that you be open and honest about your pet's health.  By letting us know of any previous injuries, health concerns, or medical conditions, we can better know how to handle your pet.  As your pet ages and becomes a senior, we ask that you continue to share with us for their continued comfort.  TLC Pet Services, LLC will never compromise a pet's health or comfort for a "perfect groom," especially with seniors.  Any pet exhibiting signs of a serious medical issue will be evaluated and either rushed to a veterinarian for medical attention or sent home to be groomed another day.

Behavioral, Aggression, and "Dangerous" Pet Challenges:
At drop off, owners MUST disclose any history of aggression, behavioral issues, or if the pet has ever bitten any person or animal for any reason.  This is for the safety of the pet and the groomers!  We do reserve the right to muzzle any pet for their safety and ours.  TLC Pet Services, LLC does not groom extremely aggressive or unruly pets or pets who require sedation.  Any pet brought in and determined to be under any form of sedation WILL be sent home and may be subject to a cancellation fee.  Owners MUST disclose any behavioral changes during future appointments as well.

Pregnant, Nursing, and In Heat Females:
TLC Pet Services, LLC does not provide grooming services for female pets who are pregnant, are possibly pregnant, or who are nursing young babies.  We also ask that owners contact us to make special arrangements for the grooming of females in heat or just out of heat as they can inadvertently cause disruption or safety concerns to other pets in the salon. 

Accidents:
Although accidents are rare, they can happen when working with live animals.  TLC Pet Services, LLC will always notify owners of any accidents or emergencies in an appropriate manner and amount of time.  TLC Pet Services, LLC reserves the right to rush a pet to a veterinarian without prior owner authorization should an injury be deemed an emergency. 

Walking of Pets Outside:
With owner permission, TLC Pet Services, LLC has the ability to take dogs outside for "potty breaks" during their groom.  Should owners grant this permission, we ask that they disclose any history of the pet trying to escape, climbing fences, digging holes, slipping collars/harnesses, or having no recall for their safety.

Pick Up:
At drop off, an estimated time frame for the completion of services will be given, usually 3-4 hours.  TLC Pet Services, LLC groomers will try to stick to that time frame but will notify owners as soon as possible if they realize it will be longer for any reason. All pets must be picked up within 1 hour of the time the owner is informed that their pet is ready to come home.  Any pet remaining for over 1 hour without prior arrangement with the staff will be subject to a $15 daycare fee.  Pets who cannot be kenneled or who are classified as noisy must be picked up within 15 minutes of service completion.  Groomers will call the owners 15 minutes prior to completion, allowing for a total arrival time of 30 minutes. ALL CATS MUST BE PICKED UP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER THEIR APPOINTMENT IS COMPLETED.

Satisfaction:
If you are unhappy with your grooming for any reason, we will be happy to attempt to make adjustments at the time of pick up.  Once a pet leaves the salon, future adjustments may be subject to a new appointment fee based on the changes desired.  DUE TO THEIR NATURE, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE COMPLETE SATISFACTION ON CAT GROOMS. Groomers will always do their best to groom cats in the manner their owners desire, however, cats are cats and do not always cooperate.

Cancellations, No Shows, and Late Arrivals:
TLC Pet Services, LLC respectfully requests a 48 hour notice should you not be able to make your appointment.  Any cancellations made after 48 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee based on the price of the groom.  Certain exceptions such as for bad weather may apply.  In order to give all pets in our care the utmost attention, we as you to not arrive more than 10 minutes early unless prior arrangements have been made.  Any pet arriving more than 15 minutes late without prior arrangement may be rescheduled for another day.

Payment:
TLC Pet Services, LLC will provide an estimate at the time of drop off.  This is determined by the pet's size, hair and coat condition, and what services are desired.  Additional charges may apply in the case of fleas and ticks being found, aggressive or unruly behavior, or the need for assistance from another groomer.  Owners will be notified of additional fees as soon as possible.  The final bill will be presented for payment at pick up. 

Pet Abandonment: 
TLC Pet Services, LLC will make every effort to contact owners of pets left in our care. However, any pet left in our care for 72 hours with no contact from the owner will be considered abandoned.  There will be an additional fee of $25 to $50 per day added to the grooming bill for each period of 24 hours the pet is left with us.  After 72 hours, the pet will then be turned over to animal control, a rescue group, or will be placed in a new home privately.  TLC Pet Services, LLC WILL NOT be held liable should original owners surface after said amount of time and the pet has already been surrendered to an outside agency or family.  Any owner who has previously abandoned an animal at our facility will be banned from the property and no future services will be provided.

Social Media:
TLC Pet Services, LLC reserves the right to take photos of any and all pets in our care. These photos may be used for client files, company websites, advertisement, and social media.
